La Verne : Water Rates Increased

The La Verne City Council has voted to increase bimonthly water bills for homeowners by $20. The typical homeowner now will pay $50. The council also agreed to consider offering discounts to senior citizens and people who pay their bills early. The increase will fund the city’s share of a $16-million water-treatment plant under construction in Claremont.
