College Roundup : Six Score Two as UCI Beats Air Force in Water Polo

Six players scored two goals each to help UC Irvine to a 13-5 win over Air Force in a nonconference water polo match Thursday in Heritage Park at Irvine.

UCI, ranked No. 7 in the nation, got two goals each from Tom Warde, Dan Smoot, Mike Halphide, John Redd, Kevin Wood and Julian Harvey.

UCI (9-8) plays at UC Santa Barbara in a Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. game at noon Saturday.

Air Force is 3-11.

In nonconference women’s soccer:

UC Irvine 5, Redlands 0--The Anteaters built a 3-0 halftime lead and cruised to the victory at UCI.

Karin Grelsson, Kelly Grimm, Alicia Braverman, Rachel Borelli, and Joanne Mills each scored for the Anteaters.

Grelsson’s goal was her 10th, team high for UCI.

UCI (8-6-2) plays host to Cal State Dominguez Hills at 3 p.m. today.

Redlands is 0-10.
