Battle Between Radicals, Police Cost $16.7 Million

PHILADELPHIA — The battle between police and the radical group MOVE in May, 1985, will cost taxpayers $16.7 million, $1 million more than previous estimates, the city controller’s office said Friday. The estimate includes costs associated with the conflict and the rebuilding of a neighborhood destroyed in a fire.
