Just How Slow Is a Los Angeles Minute?

In regard to the cash bonus for the L.A. Marathon: An announcer on KNX (last Saturday) observed that it would go to any woman completing the marathon in “2 minutes 25 seconds or less.” Wow! That’s worth $25,000 at least. Maybe even more. That computes to a speed of 650.948 m.p.h.!
