No Name Change for Canoga Park

Share

Canoga Park has no identity crisis. Perhaps individuals within our community do.

We are multi-ethnic and boast an outstanding, naturally integrated high school. We have a top-notch vegetarian restaurant, an outstanding antique row and two major shopping complexes.

Culturally we offer the Canoga Mission Gallery and a public library with one of the widest circulations in the city. We have first-rate medical and social services. Our homes range from apartments, tracts and spacious private dwellings to farmlands. Good produce is available seasonally.

Don’t deprive me of the status I’ve enjoyed in Canoga Park since 1961. If the city has its blighted areas, we cannot disenfranchise them by a name change. We can work as responsible, concerned citizens to make a difference.

Now if West Hills is impressed by Canoga Park’s total picture and wants to join us as one big Canoga Park, we residents will take the matter into consideration.
