American voters want more women to serve in Congress and as governors but believe the White House remains the domain of men, a poll released by U.S. News & World Report showed. The magazine said the nationwide poll conducted by the Roper Organization showed 55% would like more women in statewide offices, but 21% said they would not vote for a woman running for vice president and 36% would not vote for a female presidential candidate.
