AIA Magazine Combines Two Publications

Share

The merger of the American Institute of Architects’ two magazines, Architecture and Architectural Technology, has been completed with the October issue of Architecture, which focuses primarily on residential design.

The first issue, which incorporates Architectural Technology’s content into an expanded Architecture, illustrates housing-design characteristics that “will mark the magazine’s continued coverage of built works at scales ranging from urban design to interiors,” said Donald Canty, editor-in-chief.

The featured homes vary in size, style and location--from San Francisco to South Africa. Many were designed by small or young architectural firms, some of which are being published for the first time.

A new section, called “Technology and Practice,” also makes its debut in the issue.
