Jarvik-7 Recipient Gets Human Heart Transplant

PITTSBURGH —
A middle-age man who lived on a Jarvik-7 artificial heart for five days received a human heart transplant early Monday at Presbyterian-University Hospital. The patient, a resident of Butler, Pa., whose name has been withheld at the request of his family, was in critical but stable condition after the transplant, a hospital spokesman said.
