All’s Fare as Thief Starts Own Bus Line
A man stole a bus and drove it several times from New Jersey to New York, collecting $88 in fares from passengers apparently unaware that they were riding in a stolen vehicle, police said Tuesday.
Steven P. Reynolds, 20, was arrested Monday after a supervisor from a competing bus line noticed that the vehicle, owned by Academy Bus Tours Inc. of Hoboken, was at an uptown New York City bus terminal where it normally does not stop, a Port Authority of New York and New Jersey police spokesman said.
Reynolds was charged with auto theft and numerous motor vehicle violations.
