LOCAL AMERICAN MUSIC WEEK CONCERTS

Here is a partial list of concerts presented locally in conjunction with American Music Week:

Tonight--Daniel Lewis leads the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Music Center in a program that includes Walter Piston’s Symphony No. 4. 8 p.m. Also Fri, Sat, Sun, Wed.

Monday--A Monday Evening Concert program in the Bing Theater of the County Museum of Art will honor the 60th birthday of Earle Brown. Works dating from 1959-85 will be presented by various chamber combinations, led by the composer. 8 p.m.

The Elgart-Yates Guitar Duo will play music of Reich, Cage, Stravinsky and Warren Burt at the Unitarian Church in Santa Monica. 8 p.m.

Nov. 7--Several ensembles from the Crossroads School in Santa Monica will offer a jazz-electronic mixture of choral and instrumental music in the Recital Hall. 7:30 p.m.

Nov. 8--A festival of electro-acoustic music presented by the newly formed Southern California Resource for Electro-Acoustic Music will take place at Cal State Long Beach all day. Composers are drawn from six local schools as well as from across the country. Starts at 1 p.m.

A concert of works by Terry Plumeri, played by Chamber Music Plus at Cal Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks. 8:15 p.m. Also 3 p.m., Nov. 9 at College of the Canyons.

An evening of chamber music and poetry offered by Alan Berman and Signs of Life at Beyond Baroque Center. 8 p.m.

Nov. 9--The California Trio offers music of Schoenberg, Krenek and Halsey Stevens at Little Bridges Auditorium, Claremont. 8:15 p.m.

Nov. 10--The Philharmonic New Music Group plays music of John Harbison and Daniel Lentz at the Japan America Theatre. 8 p.m.
