McDonnell Douglas reported the sale of 2 DC-10s.

The firm’s Douglas Aircraft unit sold two passenger version DC-10s to Toa Domestic Airlines of Japan for an undisclosed price. A typical DC-10, however, costs about $65 million, which would put the value of the Toa deal at about $130 million. Only last month, Douglas sold two DC-10s to Thai Airways International, the first passenger model DC-10s to be sold in several years. Existing orders for passenger, cargo and military versions of the DC-10 will keep the firm’s Long Beach production lines going through 1988.
