Glendora : College Center Gets Grant

The state Department of Education has awarded Citrus College’s Child Development Center a $97,680 grant to help pay for child-care services for low-income parents attending the college.
The grant will help the on-campus center care for the children of 35 students, said center Director Diane Hinds. The center, which has a budget of about $300,000 a year, now helps about 200 families.
The center got the grant at the beginning of this month, Hinds said, “and already we have begun to enroll new subsidized student-parents. Many of these parents would not have been able to attend Citrus without this grant.”
