A bomb planted in a waiting room flower pot exploded in a New York City clinic where abortions are offered, shattering windows and slightly injuring two passers-by, officials said. The building was empty when the device detonated at 1:40 a.m. Police received several warning calls before the blast from a man who did not identify himself or claim responsibility for the bombing.
