A nude male sculpture that was diapered by its creator after it first went on display in Redwood City is naked again. “The Sleepwalker” drew complaints when it was first unveiled in the San Mateo County Hall of Justice and Records. Some county officials said the work might interfere with programs on sexual harassment and asked the county Arts Council to cover it. Artist Bill Iaculla of Palo Alto reluctantly complied and fashioned a loincloth out of the handcast paper he used for the sculpture. But the diaper disappeared sometime over the weekend. “Oh, no!” said the artist. “God! What do I do now?” A prankster placed a paper pumpkin on a vital area of the statue, but the pumpkin disappeared, too.
