CLIP JOB : STUPID PET TRICKS

I just knew there would be letters criticizing the picture of Nicolas Cage and his inverted cat Lewis (Calendar Letters, Oct. 26), most likely written by those who do not own cats.

Being a devoted cat lover, I know that felines are most resilient creatures. I have often, in the spirit of fun, lifted my cats by their tails without receiving so much as a dirty look.

It seems to me from the description of Lewis as a frisky critter that Nicolas has a good rapport with his little roommate. And I for one like a man who likes a cat. They tend to be more sensitive and less selfish. I don’t know about that octopus though.
