Letters : Applauding at the Center
What must the Cleveland Orchestra think of Southern Californians with their beautiful new Performing Arts Center! At the Sunday afternoon concert they not only applauded after all the movements of the Tchaikovsky Sixth, but the clapping was so thunderous after the thunderous third movement that numerous concert-goers thought it was all over and dashed for the exits to beat the crowd. They missed the “pathetique” fourth movement altogether.
