A contract for the design of a new pier for the U. S. Naval Station in San Diego has been awarded to Cash & Associates Engineers of Long Beach.

The Navy says it will use the agreement as a prototype for future contracts involving engineering services related to the identification of asbestos in existing utility systems.

Med-Tox Associates Inc. of Tustin and San Diego was chosen to provide necessary expertise for identification of asbestos and development of specifications for its eventual abatement by the contractor.
