Point Pelee and Birders
I disagree with Robert Turner of Granada Hills whose letter of Oct. 19 claims the $2 surcharge Oregon levies on out-of-state campers is not very neighborly. We have just returned from two months in Oregon and Washington, enjoying the state parks. We, too, are retirees but we find, even with the surcharge, the Oregon state parks are the best RV value around. The locations are very scenic, the amenities excellent, hot showers in very clean facilities and camp hosts on duty. The $9 a night we paid, with hookups, is certainly cheaper than most commercial parks. LAURA BROCKMEYER Bakersfield
