Eleven protesters demanding more black teachers occupied the city school district’s board room for a third day Sunday, as the system’s superintendent said enough qualified black teachers could not be found.

Fred Burns, a spokesman for Operation Children First, said the group is prepared remain in the room until Tuesday, when the school board meets.

About 60% of the district’s students are black; about 30% of its teachers and administrators are black.
