'Sit-in' by Snake Shuts India Factory

An engineering factory near the beach resorts of Goa has been closed for more than two months because a venomous cobra occupies the boss' office, the Press Trust of India reported Monday.

Workers have been told by local Hindu authorities not to disturb the "cobra god," the news agency said. Despite prayers and offerings--and complaints by the factory's creditors--the snake refuses to vacate.
