A health food company in Yucaipa was charged with 11 misdemeanors after bug and rodent parts were found in some of its products. San Bernardino County Deputy Dist. Atty. Karen Bustos said the charges against Mother Nature’s Goodies and its executives--based on inspections by the county Environmental Health Services Department and the state Department of Health Services--include food adulteration, insect and pest infestation and unsafe conditions for food production. Mother Nature’s Vice President David Goude, son of company founder-President Albert Goude, said problems with preparing and storing food now are being solved and a pest control firm has been hired.
