Couldn’t help noticing the recent ad for Lorimar’s “Scream for Help,” claiming the slasher pic was “From the Creator of ‘Death Wish.’ ”

Funny, but nowhere in the credits for “Scream” do we see the name of Brian Garfield (who wrote the novel “Death Wish”) or even Wendell Mayes (who adapted). Michael Winner, director and producer of both, was there. But surely he wouldn’t be taking credit for creating . . . .
