The deadline for claiming a year-old $2.9-million Illinois Lottery jackpot brought out four people who each claim to be the missing millionaire, but “they all either claim the ticket was lost or burned up or something of that nature,” a lottery spokesman said. Others who claimed to have won the Nov. 9, 1985, drawing were ruled out because they did not know where the winning ticket was purchased, the spokesman said. He said the four must “file a claim and provide us all the pertinent information. . . . We want someone to win it, but it’s going to take a very strong investigation.”
