The Supreme Court refused to free USX Corp. from a lawsuit that seeks $83 million for some Marathon Oil Co. stockholders who claim that they were shortchanged when USX acquired Marathon in 1982 . . . The Federal Reserve reports that the average yield for one-year T-bills, the most popular index for making changes in adjustable-rate home mortgages, rose to 5.76% last week after averaging 5.74% the week before . . . Bell & Howell announced that it has acquired Metro Records Management Inc. of Los Angeles for undisclosed terms . . .
