Yorba Linda : 2 Jailed After Police Get Tip on Drug Sales

Share

The arrest of two Placentia men for allegedly selling cocaine to teen-agers has ended a four-month investigation, authorities said Tuesday.

Brea-Yorba Linda Police Detective Martin Needham said Matthew Wayne Fujimura, 21, and Paul Anthony Castro, 24, were arrested late Monday after investigators obtained a warrant to search their apartment.

Needham said the pair became the focus of an investigation after police received an anonymous tip in August that drugs were being sold at the suspects’ former residence in Yorba Linda. The investigation continued after the men moved just outside the Yorba Linda city limits into Placentia in September.

Needham added that investigators observed high school-age students entering and leaving the apartment.

Found during the late-night raid were about four ounces of cocaine with an estimated street value of $12,000, records of narcotics sales and a loaded 12-gauge shotgun, police said.

Fujimura and Castro were booked on suspicion of possession of cocaine for sale and were being held at County Jail on $25,000 bail each.
