Egyptian Prime Minister Atef Sedki named a new Cabinet, retaining several key figures from the former government of Ali Lutfi. Sedki kept Field Marshal Abdel-Halim abu Ghazala and Esmat Abdel Meguid as deputy prime ministers in charge of defense and foreign affairs, respectively. Mohammed Ahmed Razaz was named finance minister replacing Saladin Hamid, who became the central bank governor. Youssri Mustafa, Sedki’s top aide in his former job as head of the Central Auditing Agency, took the economy portfolio, replacing Sultan abu Ali.
