New World Pictures of Los Angeles said it recorded record high results for the third quarter and nine months ended Sept. 30. Third-quarter revenue was up 77% over the same period last year and net income rose 239%. New World’s direct entry into the foreign syndication market, the continuing growth of its television division and the growing availability of theatrical product to the pay-television and home-video markets made significant contributions to its 1986 earnings, the firm reported.
