Paul E. Sago, president of Azusa Pacific University, has been appointed to a three-year term on the Advisory Council of Presidents. Council members serve as advisers to the Assn. of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges.

Helen Johnson, Ronald T. Aday, Dr. Joseph Li, Robin Ritchie and Mike O’Brien, all of Pasadena, and Patricia Simms of Monrovia have been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Pasadena Mental Health Center, a nonprofit agency that provides mental health services.

Andrea Totten has been named president of the Child Care Information Service Board of Directors. Sharrie Valentine has been named vice president. Carol Peters, Sharon O’Grady, Paul Morgan, Ann Patterson and Faye Davidson have been elected to the board. The service is a member agency of United Way.

Consuella Lewis of Claremont has been appointed dean of student affairs at the Claremont Colleges Office of Black Student Affairs. Lewis previously served as associate dean of residential life programs at Spelman College in Atlanta and as assistant dean of students at the University of Illinois.

Jere Stuart French, a professor of landscape architecture at Cal Poly Pomona, has been elected to the Council of Fellows of the American Society of Landscape Architects. French lives in Claremont.
