4-Day Jail Siege Ends

PETERHEAD, Scotland —
Prisoners ended a four-day siege at Peterhead Jail on Thursday and released a prison official held hostage since Sunday night, but the roof of the prison was set afire and burned for several hours, police said. No injuries were reported in either the fire or the protest over prison conditions that involved 50 inmates.
