An agreement to sell the Cleveland Indians to brothers Richard E. and David H. Jacobs, Cleveland-based real estate developers, was approved by the majority owners of the American League team.
Indian Chairman Patrick J. O’Neill said that the Jacobs brothers, who grew up in northeast Ohio, are firmly committed to keeping the team in Cleveland despite a clause permitting relocation after five years.
