Hans Stauffer of Chemical Firm

WESTPORT, Conn. — Hans Stauffer, former president of the chemical company that bears his family’s name, died Friday at his home in Bronxville, N.Y.
A spokesman for the Westport-based firm said he was 85.
Stauffer, a nephew of John Stauffer Sr., founder of the chemical firm, was company president from 1954 to 1967. Stauffer Chemical has since become a subsidiary of Chesebrough-Pond’s.
