Power Outage Leaves 4,600 in Dark
A power outage left about 4,600 customers in the Laguna Niguel area were without electricity Sunday night, a spokesman for San Diego Gas & Electric Co. said.
“The power outage is centered around a substation, the Trabuco substation in Laguna Niguel,” said Dave Smith, a spokesman for the utility.
Cause of the power loss was not immediately known, Smith said.
A spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department said the department began receiving calls and complaints about the outage about 9 p.m. Smith said San Diego Gas & Electric Co. logged its first call on the outage at 9:08 p.m.
