The daughter of geneticist David Goldfarb arrived in New York to visit her ailing father, who was allowed to leave the Soviet Union last month after industrialist Armand Hammer intervened. Olga Goldfarb, 34, said she looked forward to visiting her father, 67, who is recovering from lung cancer surgery. But, she said, “The bitter side is I would like to stay here for more than a week.” She was granted an emergency visa under new Soviet procedures and must return to Moscow on Sunday, but she said she hoped to eventually be permitted to move to the United States with her husband and two children.
