Share

The reputed head of the Colombo crime family in New York, Carmine (Junior) Persico, was sentenced to 39 years in prison for racketeering by a judge who called his life “a tragedy.” Persico, along with seven others, is also being tried in New York on charges he is a member of a ruling commission that controls Mafia families in the United States. The jury is still deliberating in that trial. Persico’s son, Alphonse (Little Allie Boy), 33, was sentenced to 12 years, and Gennaro (Jerry Lang) Langella, reputed Colombo underboss, was given a 65-year term for racketeering convictions last June.
