Nursing Unit Opens at Medical Center

San Gabriel Valley Medical Center in San Gabriel has opened a skilled-nursing unit for patients ready to leave the hospital but still in need of nursing care or physical therapy.
Patients in the unit, which also offers services to ease the transition from hospital to home, pay one-third the cost of a normal hospital stay. Part of the cost is covered by Medicare.
