109 New AIDS Cases Reported

Another 109 cases of AIDS were reported in Los Angeles County last month, bringing to 2,360 the number of victims of the disease, health officials said today. The death toll rose to 1,382, or nearly 60%.
A child under the age of 5 was one of the new AIDS victims confirmed in October, increasing the number of afflicted youngsters to 15. Los Angeles County has the nation’s third-largest number of AIDS cases, after New York and San Francisco.
