Several students have been chosen to participate in Santa Monica College’s Professional Arts Mentor Program, the only one of its kind among community colleges, according to Randall Lawson, faculty coordinator.

The mentor program is open to students with exceptional ability in the fields of art, architecture, dance, fashion, graphic and interior design, music, photography and theater arts.

Students work with mentors for up to four semesters and at the conclusion of their training present an exhibition, a recital or a public performance.
