Police alerted authorities in all 50 states to be on the lookout Friday for a multiple-murder suspect who wounded six officers and then eluded a cordon of policemen surrounding a south Bronx tenement.

In particular, Illinois State Police in Chicago were warned that suspect Larry Davis, 20, has relatives in the area. The all-states bulletin warned that Davis was “armed and very dangerous” and might be carrying .45-caliber and .32-caliber weapons, a police spokesman said.

The bulletin described Davis as 5-foot-8, weighing 165 pounds and of a “husky build.”

Authorities have been looking for Davis since Wednesday night, when a gunman shot his way out of a south Bronx apartment, wounding six officers in the barrage. Davis managed to elude 27 officers who ringed the apartment, where his sister lives.

Davis is suspected of being a crack dealer and of participating in the execution-style slayings of four men on Oct. 30. He reportedly has been involved in many holdups of crack and narcotics sites, as well as shootings in the Bronx and Manhattan.

Meanwhile, Thomas Scotto, president of the Detectives Endowment Assn. of the New York Police Department, announced that the organization was offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Davis.

Three officers remained in serious condition at Bellevue Hospital on Friday.
