Mary Decker Slaney will make her first...
Mary Decker Slaney will make her first appearance on the track in more than a year in the Sunkist Invitational indoor meet Jan. 16 at the Sports Arena.
Slaney, who was undefeated in 1985, skipped the indoor and outdoor track and field seasons in 1986 to have a baby. Her only race after giving birth to a daughter in June was the Mercedes Fifth Avenue Mile at New York in September.
Promoter Al Franken said it has not been determined which distance Slaney will run at the Sports Arena.
“Whatever she wants,” he said.
