Coyotes’ Plight
How sad that coyotes, pushed from their habitat by endless development, are forced to take dogs and cats to survive (“Coyotes,” Nov. 23). Sadder still is the fact that Fletcher Diehl, armed with rifle and personal vendetta, is encouraged--indeed rewarded--to slaughter coyotes.
Eradication of a magnificent, struggling species is an unacceptable answer. Macho thugs with rifles and underhanded tactics must be replaced by humane, thoughtful solutions.
