Kentucky state police said skeletal remains found in the backwoods of McCreary County probably are not related to two slayings allegedly committed by ex-convict James Gregory Marlow, 30, who is now being held in San Bernardino County Jail. When he was arrested two weeks ago, Marlow reportedly told Redlands police that he had killed a man last summer in Kentucky. But Kentucky authorities said Marlow’s statements apparently do not relate to bones found recently by hunters in McCreary County, because a forensic anthropologist has determined that they are the remains a man who died less than a year ago. Marlow and his girlfriend, Cynthia Lynn Coffman, 24, are accused of kidnaping and murdering Corinna D. Novis of Redlands and Lynel Murray of Huntington Beach. Miss Novis’ body was found in Fontana on Nov. 15. Miss Murray’s body was found in a Huntington Beach motel room on Nov. 13.
