Rosemead : Shuttle Bus Links 2 Malls
In an effort to support small businesses, Rosemead is operating a shuttle service to transport shoppers between the Rosemead Square and Montebello Town Center shopping malls with stops along Walnut Grove Avenue and Valley, Garvey and San Gabriel boulevards. Two buses run every 40 minutes from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
The city bought both 20-passenger buses in July for $80,000, and ridership is now 1,000 a month, Assistant City Manager Don Wagner said. The fare is 50 cents one way except for senior citizens, who pay 25 cents.
