Culver City : Police Step Up Patrols
The public will see more Culver City police officers at local shopping centers throughout the holidays, according to Police Chief Ted Cooke.
An additional 6 to 10 officers a day have been assigned to shopping areas. Plainclothes and uniformed officers are patrolling in marked and unmarked cars, on bicycles and on foot.
Lt. Don Erickson said shoppers should not carry large amounts of cash. He urged women to avoid carrying large purses and men to carry their wallets in front or inside pockets. He also said credit cards and identification should be carried in a pocket.
Erickson stressed the importance of parking in well-lighted areas.
