BOSS CHART: We all know that Bruce Springsteen’s “Live: 1975-1985” set rocketed to No. 1 on the Billboard U.S. charts in its first week in release. But how did it do in the rest of the world? Not too shabby. But in England last week, not one--but two--albums debuted ahead of the five-record collection, which reached No. 4 on the charts in its first week. The Boss was beaten by “Hits 5,” a compilation of hits from various labels (which was No. 1) and “The Whole Story,” the new album from Kate Bush, who’s always had a large following in Britain. The Springsteen set debuted at No. 1 in Canada, however, and at No. 3 in Australia. It wasn’t released in other countries soon enough to make last week’s European and Asian charts. . . . And while we’re on that subject: The American Foundation for AIDS Research raised nearly $37,000 at a recent shoe-store auction, with top dollar ($7,000) going to a pair of Bruce Springsteen cowboy boots.
