Iranian officials announced the arrest of British journalist Roger Cooper on charges of espionage, the official Iranian news agency IRNA reported. The agency did not say why the announcement of charges against Cooper, who was arrested a year ago, was withheld for so long. In London, officials from the British Foreign Office met with the Iranian charge d’affaires earlier this week and protested Cooper’s arrest.
