SUB MARINES

In “Heartbreak Ridge” Clint Eastwood had the opportunity to show the American public, and the world, what an outstanding group of men the United States Marines are.

Yet for the sake of empty laughter and box-office dollars, he opted to make fun of one of the proudest of the armed services of our country.

Unlike the lazy clowns depicted in “Heartbreak Ridge,” actual Recon Rangers are the most highly trained and dedicated of men. They care for and honor this country, and its people. And they are indeed swift, silent and extremely skillful at their work.

“Heartbreak Ridge” was conceived, written and shot in some grey limbo-land where man’s sense of pride and truth is ever flexible in order to make money for the production company. It was not based on truth.

Forgive me, Clint, for not allowing myself to forsake honesty so I could enjoy your movie.
