Titouan Lamazou, aboard Ecureuil d’Aquitaine of France, won the second leg of the BOC Challenge solo-around-the-world race, arriving at Sydney, Australia, from Cape Town in 28 days 7 hours.
The time for the 6,500 nautical miles was seven days faster than the mark set by Philippe Jeantot, aboard Credit Agricole, in the first race in 1982. Jeantot, aboard Credit Agricole III, finished five hours behind Lamazou.
Jeantot is ahead by three days in total elapsed time for legs 1 and 2.
