Marantz Reports Loss of $1.9 Million in Quarter
Buffeted by a strong yen, Marantz reported that it will post a fourth-quarter loss of about $1.9 million and a loss for the year of about $7.7 million.
The struggling Chatsworth stereo concern earned $1 million in last year’s fourth quarter, but lost $1.6 million for all of 1985.
Sales will exceed $60 million for 1986, versus $50 million last year, the company reported.
Marantz also reported that Dynascan restructured its planned acquisition of Marantz into a merger, but that the price of the deal, $15 million or $6 a share, is unchanged.
