A 23-year-old woman was arrested in connection with the robbery of a Thousand Oaks bank, authorities said, after a bank officer saw the robber driving away and wrote down the license plate number of her car.

Susan Marie Jones was arrested in the parking lot outside her Thousand Oaks apartment building, 15 minutes after the robbery occurred at the Bank of A. Levy, at 137 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd, said Ventura County sheriff’s Sgt. Kathy Cullin.

Jones was being held Tuesday night in the Ventura County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail and on suspicion of robbery, Cullin said. She was reported to have entered the bank about 10:30 a.m. and brandished a weapon while demanding money.

Sheriff’s deputies checked the registration of the license plate number given to them by the bank, Cullin said. The stolen money and the weapon, a pellet gun, were found in Jones’ car at the time of the arrest, she said.

Arraignment was set for Thursday in federal district court.
