November’s $27-Billion Deficit Is Down From ’85

WASHINGTON —
The federal government recorded a $27-billion budget deficit last month, down substantially from the deficit in November a year ago, the Treasury Department said Friday.
The department said the red ink last month was 19.1% lower than the $33.39-billion deficit in November of 1985. For the year, government spending has outpaced revenues by $52.26 billion.
